Folklore is an educational institution that instills a society's customs, traditions, and values in the souls of future generations. Through this, a nation's identity is preserved and remains present and sustainable. Travelers reflect the folklore of each country in their writings, presenting a clear picture of the other. Among the most prominent of these is Abu Hamid al-Garnati, the Andalusian traveler who collected the heritage of the regions he visited. As a result, his book "Tuhfat al-Albab wa Nukhbat al-Ijjab" (The Masterpiece of Hearts and the Elite of Admiration) is distinguished by its richness in diverse folklore.In conveying this heritage to the reader, the writer relies on sophisticated linguistic tools, harnessing the potential of language to crystallize his ideas into tangible visual images. Language is the third pillar of the novel's composition, and it can only be achieved through language.The author's mastery is evident in his use of diverse levels, such as narration, description, and dialogue, in his literary text, creating a rich text that the reader can interact with in multiple ways. Each of these levels adds a special charm to the novel. Narration enables the author to weave events in a logical and sequential order, while description allows the reader to immerse themselves in the details of the scenes and empathize with the characters' feelings. Dialogue brings the novel to life.The study adopted the descriptive-analytical approach, focusing on the levels of language with the aim of analyzing the popular heritage extracted from the book through these levels and clarifying their various functions. The results showed how Abu Hamid al-Garnati employed these levels in formulating his ideas and observations in a clear and influential style, reflecting a traditional image of the other.The book contains rich heritage elements, such as places, characters, events, and strange stories, which requires the use of the descriptive level to present scenes and their details, the narrative level to give the text a coherent chronological sequence and movement, and the dialogue level to bring the characters to life and clarify their features, thoughts, and opinions, making them reach the reader in a realistic way.
