Also it is considered the symbol of specialization in the studies. Since History, culture and civilization of Iran pre /after Islam) and shi, ism are among the Important topics of Islamic studies, we show that how the learned Iranian researchers and authors who more Familiar, with the various aspects of Iranian /shi'I studies, start to write entries for the encyclopedia. Studies showed that Iranian's cooperation with this encyclopedia was few and this cooperation was more about literature and history of Iran; not knowing common scientific languages, not awarding of new scientific methods and encyclopedia writing techniques, and not having belief and trust in Orientalism and lack of readiness of Iran's scientific community (quantitatively) in providing scientific research institutes and sometimes their weak management have caused this few cooperation. تعتبر <em>دائرة ‌المعارف الإسلامية</em> أو الموسوعة الإسلامية (طبعة ليدن)، من أهم وأبرز تجليات المناهج التاريخية للدراسات الإسلامية ـ في الغرب أو بمنظار أوسع منهج (دراسة الحالة الظاهرية للمعرفة)، وکذلک تُعد أنموذجاً في البحوث التخصصية الإسلامية لدى الغربيين. وإنّ من المباحث المهمة في مجال معرفة الإسلام هو ما يُرتبط بتاريخ وثقافة إيران وحضارتها قبل وبعد الإسلام وکذلک مذهب التشيع. ونلاحظ من خلال الأبحاث في مجال معرفة مذهب التشيع کيف يلقي لنا العلماء الإيرانيون الضوء علي الجوانب المختلفة لأوضاع ايران والذين إلتحقوا برکب تأليف <em>دائرة‌‌المعارف الإسلامية</em>، حيث شملت مقالات عدة في مجال معرفة إيران والشيعة خلال قرن من الزمان. ثم نتناول مشارکة الإيرانيين في تأليف هذه الموسوعة التي غلب عليها الطابع الادبي. ويعود سبب المشارکة المحدودة إلى عدم الإضطلاع بلغات علمية مشترکة، و الجهل في التعامل مع الأساليب العلمية الحديثة، وانعدام الإيمان والثقة في الإستشراق و ضعف الإدارة في إعداد المؤسسات العلمية من‌حيث‌الکمية و النوعية. http://afagh.ihcs.ac.ir/article_858_6946d5754cef42246b1b816bb9fbe400.pdf
